The Joy of Toys at Christmas

Posted by: Mike Tindell | Comments (0)

Although adults like to receive gifts, many will readily forego the pleasure by sacrificing, if it means a small member of the family will be totally pleased and delighted with their Christmas gift. Seeing the sparkle of joy in children’s eyes when they receive a toy or other Christmas present certainly confirms that Christmas is for children. And after all, Santa brings gifts for all the good little boys and girls, not for moms and dads or other adults.

It was very humorous, as parents once related how on Christmas Day when their child opened a Christmas gift and was pleased, they pretended to be a bit saddened that Santa Claus didn’t bring them any Christmas present. The child responded,

Good toys, toys, toys. You are tired of giving your children, nieces, nephews, godchildren and others toys for every occasion. Robots, cute dolls, kitchen wares, colorful balls, cars..you name it and chances are they may have received it. Aren’t they getting tired of receiving toys?

Kids are kids. Of course, they will always like toys. However, if you think of giving these kids something that will not be given by others, then, do not give them toys. Then try something different like personalized canvas tote bags. Why not make your gifts personalized? Yes, children will even appreciate personalized gifts if only you will make it something attractive or useful to them.

Pillow and blanket

Of course, kids do have their own pillows and blankets. But, they would love a pillow and a blanket with their names. To make it more special, choose colorful pillow and blanket. You may also add another one in this list if you still have a budget – robe as it is still better than to buy any personalized coaster set that is expensive even for big people.

Bag

Buy a plain-looking and basic-colored bag, and a small stuffed toy. Weave it in front of the bag. In seconds, you have a customized bag for a child. Make sure that the zipper does not run in the area where you weave it or else, you may not be able to close the bag. Or, for another and better idea, besides of using a small stuffed toy, purchase different colors of fabrics. Trace and cut letters on these fabrics that comprise the name of the child to whom you are giving the personalized bag. Weave each letter in front of the bag until you are able complete the name.

T-shirt

Check online to know where you can purchase a photo-printed shirt. Select his or her most beautiful picture for the shirt. Pick out an attractive color for a shirt, too. For certain, any kid will love to see his picture printed in his shirt.

Wall decor

Collect a number of pictures of the child to whom you are giving this gift. Next, creatively cut the letters of the child’s name from colorful magazines. Paste all these pictures and letters in a rectangular shape of frame. For sure, this gift will earn a space in the room of the child. This is quite normal even for gifts of mature ones like personalized Valentines gifts for him.

Children’s songs CD

Buy children’s songs CD. But, to make your gift distinct, change the CD label. Ask an artist to make a new CD label out of the pictures you are giving him. To make it more appealing, include your personal message and small picture in the label.

Gone are the days when toys used to dominate people’s attention during opening of gifts. It is the moment to set your gifts apart from the others. There is a vast range of gift ideas for kids available. A personalized pillow, blanket, bag, shirt, wall decor, and children’s songs CD are just some of them. To come up with another list, all you have to do is to be creative, check online, ask referrals from friends, or roam around your area and you will see what you are looking for.

Once kids lose their fear of the dark, it seems they can’t get enough of playing out late at night, playing games like hide and seek or other such games. It must seem like a whole new world to discover to new eyes, and in reality it is. All sorts of animals come out at night when the world is in darkness and do strange things (like tipping the trash can over !). However the main drawback of playing at night and in the dark is that the eyes aren’t up to it. We have very limited vision in the dark, which obviously hinders night time play quite dramatically. Well now that could all be a thing of the past with the new Stealth goggles and binoculars.

Stealth goggles, referred to as version 1 and stealth binoculars, known as version 2 go by the name EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles and are made by Jakks. They are designed for kids 8 years and over for the purpose of playing various games at night.

They use the same technology as the proper night vision gear you might expect the military to use
